About The Position

Walmart Global Tech is seeking a System and Infrastructure Engineer III within Information Security, specializing in Access Management Engineering (AME). This role focuses on building, operating, and improving the access control foundations that protect Walmart’s enterprise systems at global scale. As part of the AME team, you will design and engineer identity and access management (IAM) capabilities that enable secure, compliant, and efficient access for associates, applications, and services across corporate, retail, supply chain, cloud, and legacy environments. This is a hands‑on engineering role that blends software engineering, systems engineering, and security. You will work directly with platforms such as Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD), SailPoint, ServiceNow, and enterprise authorization systems, helping ensure access is provisioned correctly, removed promptly, audited continuously, and automated wherever possible. You will partner closely with application teams, infrastructure teams, IAM platform teams, and security stakeholders to embed access controls into real business workflows—not just design them on paper. What you'll do... Access Management Engineering Design, build, and maintain enterprise‑scale access management solutions across: Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD) SailPoint Identity Governance platforms ServiceNow‑driven access workflows Custom and internally‑built authorization systems Engineer access models that support least privilege, role‑based access, and policy‑driven controls across diverse platforms and environments Partner with application and platform teams to integrate access controls into new systems and modernization efforts Automation & Identity Lifecycle Engineer and automate access workflows, including: Provisioning and deprovisioning Joiner / Mover / Leaver lifecycle events Access reviews and recertification processes Reduce manual effort and operational risk by building resilient, automated IAM workflows Improve speed, accuracy, and consistency of access delivery while maintaining strong security controls Operations, Reliability & Incident Response Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve access‑related incidents and platform issues Perform root cause analysis and implement durable fixes to prevent repeat failures Treat access management systems as production‑grade services, with strong operational discipline Partner with on‑call engineers and platform teams to ensure stability, scalability, and availability Security, Risk & Compliance Support audit, SOX, and regulatory requirements by providing: Technical evidence Documentation Clear explanations of access control implementations Identify gaps or weaknesses in access management processes and recommend improvements Help move decentralized or inconsistent access controls into standardized, enterprise‑governed solutions Collaboration & Team Contribution Collaborate across Information Security, Infrastructure, Cloud, and Application teams Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge, standards, and best practices Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives What You Bring Required Strong hands‑on experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM) or Access Management Engineering Solid systems and software engineering background, including: Windows and/or Linux environments Directory services (AD / Entra ID) Enterprise application integrations Experience building or supporting automated workflows and integrations Working knowledge of: APIs and service integrations Scripting or automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) Ability to operate in a complex, large‑scale enterprise environment Strong problem‑solving skills and ownership mindset Preferred Experience with IAM or IGA platforms such as SailPoint Familiarity with: ServiceNow‑driven access workflows Cloud identity and hybrid identity architectures Privileged access or elevated account models Experience supporting security platforms with audit and compliance requirements Strong communication skills for working with both technical teams and security stakeholders Why This Role Matters Access Management Engineering is foundational to Walmart’s security posture. Requirements

  • Strong hands‑on experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM) or Access Management Engineering
  • Solid systems and software engineering background, including: Windows and/or Linux environments Directory services (AD / Entra ID) Enterprise application integrations
  • Experience building or supporting automated workflows and integrations
  • Working knowledge of: APIs and service integrations Scripting or automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash)
  • Ability to operate in a complex, large‑scale enterprise environment
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ownership mindset
  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or related area and 2years’ experience in systems and infrastructure engineering or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.
  • Option 2: 4 years’ experience in systems and infrastructure engineering or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.
