About The Position

The (USA) Systems and Infrastructure Engineer II plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing infrastructure systems through routine maintenance, automation, and coding practices. This position supports capacity planning, issue resolution, configuration, and version control to ensure optimal system performance and security compliance. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to analyze requirements, design scalable solutions, and implement improvements aligned with business objectives. The engineer applies industry standards and emerging technologies to deliver robust, efficient, and secure infrastructure components while contributing to continuous operational excellence and organizational goals. The Edge Compute Operations team ensures the reliable maintenance of infrastructure across Stores and Distribution Centers. This team manages hardware servers, operating systems, and various projects to support seamless operations. Members focus on routine infrastructure tasks, automation of repetitive processes, and capacity management to optimize resources. They collaborate to design scalable solutions while adhering to security and compliance standards. The team is committed to delivering consistent performance and uninterrupted service, contributing to an exceptional customer experience through technical expertise and continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with infrastructure maintenance, including backups, patch management, and system performance monitoring.
  • Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or similar for task automation.
  • Knowledge of coding standards, frameworks, and platforms including Microsoft Azure and AWS.
  • Ability to apply security policies and compliance standards during code development and infrastructure design.
  • Familiarity with configuration, version control, and release management processes.
  • Strong analytical skills for capacity planning, issue resolution, and risk analysis.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills to support business and technical stakeholders.
  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, information technology, or related area and 2 years’experience in technology infrastructure engineering across areas such as compute, storage, network, mobility or virtualization-related technologies.
  • Option 2: 3 years’ experience in technology infrastructure engineering across areas such as compute, storage, network, mobility or virtualization related technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks for infrastructure systems, including backups, patch management, and hot fixes.
  • Assist in automating repetitive tasks using scripting languages and automation tools to improve operational efficiency.
  • Support configuration and release management by configuring virtual machines and maintaining version control for code deployments.
  • Contribute to infrastructure design by evaluating tradeoffs and adhering to security and compliance standards.
  • Analyze IT resource utilization and assist in capacity planning to meet current and future business requirements.
  • Apply issue resolution techniques to address and document low-complexity infrastructure issues.
