About The Position

Resource Management Concepts, Inc. (RMC) is seeking a Systems Administrator to support our Navy customer in Port Hueneme, CA. This role is responsible for administering, maintaining, and securing enterprise IT systems that support mission-critical Department of Defense (DoD) operations. The ideal candidate brings a proactive approach to system reliability, cybersecurity compliance, and end-user support in a dynamic operational environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in systems administration or a related IT discipline.
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance (T5) investigation eligibility required at time of hire.
  • DoD 8570/8140 compliant IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+, CCNA Security, or equivalent) required prior to start.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Navy or other DoD environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems in enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with network management, virtualization, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a team-oriented, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems, including workstations, file servers, and web servers.
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with DoD security requirements.
  • Perform system upgrades, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to network connectivity, system functionality, and cybersecurity incidents.
  • Implement and manage security tools such as firewalls, antivirus solutions, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Ensure system configurations remain compliant with DoD cybersecurity policies and Cyber Workforce (CWF) requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and update system documentation, standard operating procedures, and user guides.
  • Provide responsive, customer-focused technical support and training to end users.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational and project-based IT initiatives.
