About The Position

The IT Systems Administrator II is responsible for maintaining and optimizing core server and cloud infrastructure across Azure and on-prem environments, ensuring system reliability, security, and performance while driving a high volume of security remediation tickets. This role involves administering and maintaining Windows and Linux server environments, managing Azure cloud services, and performing security-related system administration tasks. The administrator will also maintain Active Directory and Azure AD, partner with the security team, monitor systems, troubleshoot infrastructure issues, and support endpoint/device management and disaster recovery procedures.

  • Experience supporting disaster recovery and backup solutions in enterprise settings.
  • Strong documentation and technical writing skills for runbooks, SOPs, and audits.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Windows and Linux server environments (physical and virtual) in a secure and stable manner
  • Manage Azure cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) within a primarily Azure-based environment
  • Own and resolve a high volume of infrastructure and security remediation tickets, including permissions, account updates, system configuration changes, and vulnerability fixes
  • Perform security-related system administration tasks, including patching, configuration updates, and remediation of vulnerabilities identified through internal security scans
  • Execute system updates and participate in scheduled maintenance windows (patching, reboots, upgrades)
  • Maintain Active Directory and Azure AD (DNS, DHCP, GPOs), with a focus on user access, permissions, and policy administration
  • Partner with the security team to support remediation efforts and implement required system changes
  • Monitor systems and logs to identify performance issues and potential risks
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues across OS, application, and platform layers
  • Collaborate with engineering and service desk teams for escalations and operational support
  • Support endpoint/device management efforts (including Intune, where applicable)
  • Maintain disaster recovery procedures and support business continuity requirement
