About The Position

This role provides overall technical leadership for enterprise systems operations, including hardware, software, networking, and infrastructure components. The Systems Administrator will direct and monitor day-to-day operations for enterprise computing environments, translate business requirements into enterprise IT designs, architectures, and technical solutions, and perform engineering analysis and integration of enterprise service alternatives to support modernization initiatives. A key focus will be serving as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Linux/UNIX environments (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.), administering, configuring, and optimizing Linux-based systems in physical and virtual environments. This includes performing system tuning, performance optimization, and root-cause analysis of complex issues, as well as supporting patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management of Linux systems, and implementing automation using Bash, Python, or similar scripting tools. The role also involves monitoring, diagnosing, and resolving issues across servers (Linux & Windows), network systems, storage environments (SAN/NAS), and applications/enterprise services, utilizing advanced tools to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and system failures. Troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues affecting production systems and providing proactive improvements to enterprise infrastructure design and performance are also key responsibilities. Additionally, the role includes installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, workstations, operating systems, applications, and patches, supporting both physical and virtualized environments, operating and maintaining backup and recovery systems, and conducting routine testing, validation, and integration of enterprise solutions. The Systems Administrator will interface with end users and operations personnel to provide technical support and service delivery, ensuring systems meet operational requirements and service level expectations, and providing technical guidance for system enhancements and modernization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • TS/SCI clearance- must be active.
  • 3+ years of experience in enterprise systems engineering or operations
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Linux/UNIX systems administration
  • Strong experience with Enterprise infrastructure (servers, storage, networking)
  • Strong experience with SAN technologies and backup systems
  • Strong experience with Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar)
  • Strong experience with System monitoring and diagnostic tools
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues
  • Security+ certification
  • Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator (LFCS) certification
  • CompTIA Linux+ certification
