About The Position

As a System Administrator II, you will help maintain and optimize the critical technology infrastructure that supports business operations, client services, and fintech innovation. You will administer enterprise systems, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and implement improvements that enhance performance, reliability, and security. This role requires strong technical expertise, collaboration across teams, and a proactive approach to operational excellence. Success is measured through system availability, service quality, automation improvements, and effective incident resolution. NOTE: This role is 5 days onsite supporting our Banking client in Fairfield, CA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience administering enterprise server environments, operating systems, and infrastructure platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux administration.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, cloud platforms, or hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, performance management, and incident resolution processes.
  • Proficiency in scripting or automation using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar technologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SCCM for patching and software deployments.
  • Experience with IGEL, Citrix and virtualization hypervisors such as Nutanix AOS and Hyper-V.
  • Experience with IT service management practices and service delivery frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Windows, Linux, and virtualized server environments to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Monitor infrastructure health, system utilization, and capacity to identify and resolve issues proactively.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and network-related incidents.
  • Implement system patches, upgrades, enhancements, and maintenance activities following change management processes.
  • Support identity and access management, including account provisioning, authentication, and security controls.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
  • Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes to ensure business continuity.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, application, and support teams to deliver reliable technology services.
  • Maintain system documentation, configuration standards, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
