Systems Administrator - Disaster Recovery

About The Position

The Disaster Recovery Administrator (DRA) is responsible for planning, scheduling and participating in Disaster Recovery exercises ensuring that the timelines are followed, issues are escalated and tracked to resolution. The DRA will be one of our system recovery experts in the organization and will fill a vital role in the success of the IT organization by monitoring DR replication status, ensuring we are prepared for a disaster and that processes are in place to meet all Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) as set forth by the business. The DRA will also be responsible for tracking system testing schedules and results, maintaining Business Continuity Plans for the business, monitoring and maintaining Data Center physical space, participating in IT Triage events and assisting with Data Center maintenance as required. Requirements

  • System recovery expertise
  • Ability to monitor DR replication status
  • Knowledge of Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs)
  • Ability to track system testing schedules and results
  • Experience maintaining Business Continuity Plans
  • Ability to monitor and maintain Data Center physical space
  • Experience participating in IT Triage events
  • Experience assisting with Data Center maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Leading small to medium scale Disaster Recovery-based initiatives of projects with some supervision.
  • Include IT or other process owner departments in Multi-dimensional projects
  • Assist with planning and scheduling of Disaster Recovery tests
  • Ensure DR documentation is up-to-date
  • Participate in and/or lead DR tests as required
  • Document DR testing results and collect test “sign-offs”
  • Work with IT and Business leads to identify defects and drive remediation
  • Assist in Data Center maintenance events, adhering to policies and standards
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned.
