About The Position

WOW! is hiring a hands-on System Technician to maintain and support its HFC network serving homes and businesses. The role involves fieldwork troubleshooting network issues, maintaining and optimizing network equipment, completing fiber work, responding to outages, and helping expand serviceability. Technicians represent WOW! while delivering customer service and explaining technical matters to customers.

The position involves outdoor work in all weather conditions, climbing ladders and working on poles, roofs, attics, and crawl spaces. Technicians lift up to 90 pounds, use tools and equipment, operate company vehicles, and work near electrical equipment and power lines. The schedule is flexible and includes evenings, weekends, and an on-call rotation.

The advertised starting pay is $22.50–$27.50 per hour, based on skill and experience. The posting also notes quarterly bonus opportunities and pay increases with certifications, which WOW! helps employees earn.

Requirements

• Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, or repairing HFC networks is highly preferred.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical customers.

• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and an on-call rotation.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair HFC (Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial) networks.
• Test and optimize signal performance.
• Maintain network equipment, including nodes, fiber systems, and power supplies.
• Perform fiber splicing and activation.
• Handle outages and support emergency restoration.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and system balancing.
• Identify signal leakage and ensure compliance.
• Support network expansion and serviceability.
• Deliver excellent customer service while representing WOW!.
