About The Position

The Systems Support Technician performs hands-on deployment, configuration, and day-to-day administration of the Credit Union's Microsoft technology platforms, including Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, endpoint management, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows workstation systems. This position executes technical and security-related system changes as assigned, coordinates and directs change and deployment work performed by the Credit Union's managed service provider, and performs quality assurance on completed work to confirm that changes were implemented accurately and completely. The role also serves as the internal escalation resource for complex desktop, application, access, and device issues that cannot be resolved by the Help Desk Technician. This position is an execution role. Security control requirements are defined by Information Security, and technology priorities are set by management. Both are assigned, sequenced, and supervised through the IT Operations and Service Delivery Manager, to whom this position reports and escalates.

Requirements

  • Two to four years of experience in desktop support, systems support, Microsoft 365 administration, endpoint administration, or a similar technical role.
  • Hands-on experience administering or supporting Microsoft 365, Active Directory or Microsoft Entra ID, Windows endpoints, and endpoint management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, workstation configuration, and endpoint security best practices.
  • Strong organizational, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Equivalent technical training, certifications, or relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Experience working with Group Policy, software deployment, patch management, device compliance, and technical documentation.
  • Experience working in a regulated or financial services environment, or in an environment supported by a managed service provider.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102), Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300), Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), CompTIA Network+, or CompTIA Security+.

Responsibilities

  • Performs hands-on deployment, configuration, and day-to-day administration of Microsoft technology platforms.
  • Executes technical and security-related system changes.
  • Coordinates and directs change and deployment work performed by the Credit Union's managed service provider.
  • Performs quality assurance on completed work.
  • Serves as the internal escalation resource for complex desktop, application, access, and device issues.
  • Administers Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and user licensing.
  • Supports Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and/or Active Directory environments.
  • Manages endpoint management, software deployment, patch management, and device compliance monitoring.
  • Creates, deploys, and troubleshoots Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and endpoint configuration policies.
  • Provides Tier 2 technical support and troubleshooting for complex hardware, software, and access-related issues.
  • Maintains accurate technical documentation and follows established change management procedures.
  • Works independently, manages multiple priorities, and maintains confidentiality in a regulated environment.
