About The Position

This position is responsible for coordinating staff workflows, ensuring effective use of all software and computer systems, providing technical support, and serving as the primary liaison with state programs and vendors. The role develops and maintains reporting, supports customer service and financial processes, and contributes to the selection, implementation, and training of new and updated systems to ensure efficient and accurate License Center operations.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Two years of post-secondary formal education in computer science or similar field and two years of related experience with computer programs, applications, and software OR six years of progressively related experience with computer programs, applications, and software
  • Reliable means of transportation to travel to multiple locations around Stearns County, some of which may not be accessible by public transportation
  • All employees are required to reside within the state of Minnesota.
  • All employees must be continuously authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis and must be a resident of Minnesota.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the License Center, including scheduling, training, workflow coordination, and prioritization of activities.
  • Address staffing and workload issues and recommend overtime as needed.
  • Support daily service operations, including daily financial balance, deposit audit, process dealer work, and assist at the counter during peak business times.
  • Responds to inquiries from the public and license center business partners in person, by phone, and by correspondence.
  • Assess employee training needs and assist with training staff of current and new processes.
  • Coordinate technology setup, software access, user permissions, administration, and maintenance of License Center computer systems.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in all software applications and work as a liaison with state programs and vendors to identify and resolve system issues and schedule updates or upgrades.
  • Create and analyze reports to support training, departmental planning, budgeting, and operational decisions.
  • Maintain the department’s internal and external websites and collaborate with IS, vendors, and user groups on web development needs.
  • Participate in the research, selection, installation, implementation, and training of new and updated software applications and RFP‑related processes.
  • Maintain regular and timely attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.
