About The Position

Village Bank is a well-respected local community bank with four locations. Our passion for community banking stems from our desire to help people, both our valued employees and our growing community. We're looking for a System Security Administrator to join our IT department and play a key role in protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data. This is a hands-on role where you'll own security operations, drive compliance, and serve as a trusted resource for our staff all within a collaborative, people-first environment. If you're the kind of person who proactively hunts down vulnerabilities before they become problems, communicates clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences, and takes real pride in protecting people's data, we'd love to talk.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of experience in IT security or system administration
  • Familiarity with regulatory and bank security frameworks and standards
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems, networking protocols, and security policies
  • Clear, confident communicator, in writing and in person
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A genuine commitment to customer service and confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain security tools including firewalls and antivirus software
  • Monitor network and system activity for threats and unauthorized access
  • Investigate and respond to security incidents, breaches, and alerts
  • Administer user access, permissions, and authentication systems
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
  • Apply security patches and updates in a timely manner
  • Develop, document, and enforce IT security policies and best practices
  • Monitor and test data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans
  • Maintain documentation for audits and regulatory compliance
  • Conduct regular IT risk assessments and update the Information Security Program annually
  • Provide security awareness training to staff and present security reports to the Audit and Risk Committee and Board of Directors
