The System Reliability Technician I helps keep the Bikeshare program operating smoothly by balancing bicycles across the network, charging e-bikes, and supporting the usability and upkeep of system assets. The position performs basic field repairs to bicycles and stations when possible, removes defective equipment for workshop repair, evaluates asset conditions and updates their status, submits service requests as needed, and assists customers. It also supports community events, which may take place at night, on weekends, or holidays, and helps maintain a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable workplace. The role operates non-revenue vehicles to redistribute bicycles, charge and swap e-bike batteries, and clean stations and bicycles. It maintains charging locations, vehicles, warehouse and storage spaces, and Bikeshare facilities. The technician supports more complex projects led by System Reliability Technician IIs and IIIs, such as station installations, asset branding, and system testing. Work takes place in office and outdoor settings, includes exposure to inclement weather and biohazard conditions requiring PPE, and may involve varying or rotating shifts and work beyond a normal 40-hour week. The position is onsite at a CapMetro facility or field location, with work at the office or field location expected at least four days a week. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
