System Operator - O&R, OR ECC
About The Position
Under the supervision of the Senior System Operator-O&R, in a fixed post position on a rotating shift, the System Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Orange & Rockland Transmission system. The System Operator must develop an understanding of and proficiency in the principles of electric power systems, departmental operating manuals and instructions and corporate policies and procedures. The System Operator must use sound judgment and make timely decisions in performing the functions of switching and transmission operations. This position is directly responsible for adherence to all applicable North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and regional standards as the company is registered on the compliance registry.
Requirements
- Understanding of and proficiency in the principles of electric power systems
- Understanding of departmental operating manuals and instructions
- Understanding of corporate policies and procedures
- Ability to use sound judgment and make timely decisions
- Adherence to all applicable North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and regional standards
