About The Position

Halogen Engineering Group is looking for a System Engineer with Zero Trust experience to join our team. This role involves performing cybersecurity assessments of large-scale DOD systems, utilizing an OCO (Offensive Cyber Operations) mindset to perform DCO (Defensive Cyber Operations) activities. The engineer will conduct in-depth vulnerability assessments, verify and validate security requirements, and incorporate systems resiliency and security engineering concepts into acquisition documents. Additionally, the role requires technical evaluations of contractor proposals and fostering customer relationships to gain insights for mission accomplishment.

Requirements

Current TS/SCI Security Clearance
Polygraph Required (Poly must be less than 6 years old)
Minimum 12 years of System Engineering experience
High School Diploma: + 12 years System Engineering Experience
Relevant Bachelor's degree in STEM field: + 8 years System Engineering
Relevant Master's degree in STEM field: + 6 years System Engineering
Zero Trust Experience

Nice To Haves

Cybersecurity certification (Sec+, CISSP, CEH, etc)
Familiarity with NIST SP 800-160
Familiarity with INCOSE defined life cycle systems engineering processes
Experience with / knowledge of large-scale DOD Systems

Responsibilities

Perform cybersecurity assessments of large-scale DOD systems, utilizing an OCO (Offensive Cyber Operations) mindset to perform DCO (Defensive Cyber Operations) activities.
Perform long term, in depth vulnerability assessments leveraging systems engineering principals and knowledge, utilizing any available information, including architecture diagrams, build specifications, design documentation, and systems architecture.
Perform independent verification & validation of security requirements and capabilities. Incorporating systems resiliency and security engineering concepts into acquisition documents (e.g., Performance Work Statements).
Perform technical evaluations of contractor proposals for systems resiliency, security, and cyber security considerations.
Leverage your interpersonal skills to foster relationship development with our customers to gain additional insights, information, and documentation to improve our ability to accomplish our mission.
