About The Position

Leidos is seeking a System Engineer with Systems Administration and some Software Engineering experience to join a high-performing agile team. This role involves providing system and software engineering, development, test, integration, and operational support, following DEVOPS best practices and utilizing robust development, test, and production environments. The position also requires the maintenance of legacy IT systems and services.

Requirements

  • BS and 8+ years of prior relevant experience, Master’s with 6 years of prior relevant experience, or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 12 years of specialized systems administration experience (may include relevant military service).
  • US Citizenship and a Top Secret / SCI Clearance required, with the ability to obtain a Polygraph.
  • Capable of performing systems and software engineering activities in support of agile teams.
  • Familiarity with systems administration roles and functions.
  • Familiarity with secure systems engineering and development.
  • Familiarity with WINDOWS environments.
  • Comfortable working on multiple systems simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to adopting and adhering to best practices.
  • Ability to communicate clearly regarding technical options and trade-offs.
  • Comfortable working both independently and with a team in a fast-moving environment.
  • Familiarity with shell scripting such as PowerShell or Bash.
  • Compliant with DoD 8570 IAT Level II (e.g., Security+, SSCP).
  • Familiarity with VM ware and Docker environments.
  • For candidates without a college degree, relevant military technical specialty experience (e.g., Army/Marine Corps MOS 35T/33W/25B/25D, Navy IT/ITS, Air Force 1D7X1, Space Force 5D7X1) focused on IT infrastructure, routing, or systems administration is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on system administration support for a complex network environment with locally and geographically distributed components.
  • Interface with system engineers, integration engineers, test engineers, information assurance engineers, and other project team members in an Agile environment.
  • Ensure the proper degree of engineering rigor is applied to all assigned tasks.
  • Collaborate with other program technical professionals on a day-to-day basis and be an active participant in related agile team activities.
  • Assist with hardware and software troubleshooting, maintenance, Virtual environment stand ups, and patch installations.
  • Be flexible enough to learn new practices and apply them as needed.
  • Assist the development team with system administration and network support.

Benefits

  • Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00
