About The Position

Wyetech is seeking a fully cleared System Engineer Level 2 to conduct research, engage subject matter experts (SMEs), and understand complex data flows in order to diagram workflows focused on the automation, collection, and correlation analytics of customer tools. The System Engineer will evaluate existing capabilities, requirements, systems, standards, and processes and provide recommendations to support mission and system improvements. The ideal candidate will combine strong systems engineering experience with the ability to understand and visually communicate complex technical workflows. Experience with Confluence and Jira is required. UX/UI and Adobe Illustrator experience is highly desired, but not required.

Requirements

  • Fourteen (14) years of experience as a System Engineer (SE) in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Experience conducting research and engaging subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand technical requirements, systems, and processes.
  • Ability to understand and analyze data flows and develop diagrams of workflows focused on automation, collection, and correlation analytics.
  • Experience evaluating and providing recommendations regarding current capabilities, requirements, systems, standards, and processes.
  • Experience with Confluence and Jira.
  • Strong systems engineering, requirements analysis, and technical documentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Five (5) years of additional System Engineering experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position-appropriate security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

  • The System Engineer analyzes user requirements, Concept of Operations (CONOPS) documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
  • The SE analyzes system requirements and leads design and development activities, guides users in formulating requirements, advises on alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies.
  • The SE provides technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology; incorporates new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations; develops technical documentation; and develops system architecture and system design documentation.
  • The SE also supports system development and implementation planning through the assessment or preparation of Systems Engineering Management Plans and system integration and test plans.
  • The position interacts with Government stakeholders regarding systems engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues, or conflicts and is responsible for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables within the assigned Systems Engineering area of responsibility.
  • Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure delivery of production systems compatible with defined system architectures, including Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Contribute to systems engineering documentation, including System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
  • Assist with development of system and functional requirements and allocation to hardware, software, facility, and personnel components.
  • Coordinate resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews requiring cross-discipline coordination.
  • Participate in Integrated Product Teams to design new capabilities based on development and operational considerations.
  • Allocate real-time process budgets and error budgets to systems and subsystem components.
  • Generate alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions.
  • Define methods, processes, and evaluation criteria for verifying systems, subsystems, and work products against requirements.
  • Develop system design solutions satisfying system requirements and functional analysis.
  • Review and provide input to program and contract Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), work packages, and Integrated Master Plans (IMP).
  • Participate in interface definition, design, and configuration changes throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Derive stakeholder needs and functions from system requirements.
  • Derive lower-level requirements from higher-level allocated requirements and ensure requirements are complete, correct, unique, unambiguous, realizable, and verifiable.
  • Participate in establishing and gaining approval of system or component definitions, including requirements, designs, interfaces, and test procedures.
  • Develop derived requirements for Information Assurance Services, including Confidentiality, Integrity, Non-repudiation, and Availability.
  • Develop requirements involving Identification, Authentication, Access Control, Accountability, passwords, cryptography, discretionary and mandatory access control, hashing, and key management.
  • Implement comprehensive SOA solutions.
  • Implement operational, technical standards, and system/services architecture views using applicable DoDAF standards.
  • Review and/or approve systems engineering documentation for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with system needs.
  • Capture interface designs in a common interface control format and maintain interface data in an accessible repository.
  • Assess program risks and determine probability of occurrence and quantified consequences in accordance with approved risk management plans.
  • Plan verification efforts for new and unproven designs early in the development lifecycle.
  • Prepare timeline analysis diagrams illustrating time-dependent functions.
  • Establish and manage formal processes for requirements changes, stakeholder buy-in, requirements traceability, and resolution of open actions.
  • Manage and maintain the technical integrity of the system baseline throughout the lifecycle, from development through deployment and Operations & Maintenance (O&M).
  • Support planning and test analysis associated with DoD Certification/Accreditation and other Government Certification and Accreditation (C&A) processes.
  • Support development and review of Joint Capability Integration Development System (JCIDS) documentation, including Initial Capability Documents, Capabilities Description Documents, and IA Strategies.
  • Provide technical direction for development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of complex hardware/software systems.
  • Perform requirements elicitation, analysis and functional allocation, systems requirements reviews, development of concepts of operation and interface standards, system architecture development, technical/non-technical assessments, and end-to-end flow analysis.
  • Develop scenarios and Operational Concepts describing interactions among systems, users, and environments.
  • Conduct quantitative analysis in non-functional system performance areas including Reliability, Maintainability, Vulnerability, Survivability, and Produceability.
  • Establish and follow formal procedures for coordinating system integration activities among multiple teams and ensuring complete interface coverage.
