About The Position

Wyetech is seeking a System Engineer Level 2 (SE2) to support mission-critical operational systems and dataflow activities. The Systems Engineer will support the monitoring, optimization, troubleshooting, and maintenance of data flows to and from collection systems while helping ensure operational mission systems continue to deliver accurate and properly formatted DNI and DNR data to analysts and other stakeholders throughout the enterprise. The successful candidate will work directly with corporate dataflow teams, capabilities teams, and mission partners to maintain backend processing operations, support system deployments and upgrades, troubleshoot dataflow anomalies, and maintain awareness of operational collection capabilities.

Requirements

  • Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Systems Engineer (SE) on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Five (5) years of additional Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Dataflow experience using NiFi (NiagaraFiles) is required.
  • Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required. (e.g. Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency appropriate polygraph).

  • Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure delivery of production systems compatible with defined system architectures, including Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Contribute to systems engineering documentation, including System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
  • Assist with developing system and functional requirements and allocating requirements to hardware, software, facility, and personnel components.
  • Coordinate resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews requiring cross-discipline coordination.
  • Participate in Integrated Product Teams to design new capabilities based on development and operational considerations.
  • Allocate real-time process budgets and error budgets to systems and subsystem components.
  • Generate alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions.
  • Define methods, processes, and evaluation criteria used to verify systems, subsystems, and work products against established requirements.
  • Develop system design solutions that satisfy system requirements and functional analyses.
  • Review and provide input to program and contract Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), work packages, and Integrated Master Plans (IMP).
  • Participate in interface definition, design, and configuration changes throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Derive stakeholder needs and essential system functions from established system requirements.
  • Derive lower-level requirements from higher-level allocated requirements and ensure requirements are complete, correct, unique, unambiguous, realizable, and verifiable.
  • Participate in establishing and gaining approval of system and component definitions, including requirements, designs, interfaces, and test procedures.
  • Develop derived requirements for Information Assurance Services, including confidentiality, integrity, non-repudiation, and availability.
  • Develop requirements supporting Information Assurance mechanisms, including identification, authentication, access control, accountability, passwords, cryptography, hashing, and key management.
  • Implement comprehensive Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions.
  • Implement operational, technical standards, systems, and services architecture views using applicable DoDAF standards.
  • Review and/or approve systems engineering documentation to ensure processes and specifications are accurate, comprehensive, complete, and aligned with system needs.
  • Capture interface designs in a common interface control format and maintain interface data in an accessible repository.
  • Assess program risks and determine probability of occurrence and consequences of failure in accordance with approved risk management plans.
  • Plan verification efforts for new and unproven designs to ensure compliance with established requirements.
  • Prepare timeline analysis diagrams illustrating the flow of time-dependent functions.
  • Establish and support formal requirements change-management processes, including impact assessment, stakeholder coordination, traceability, and resolution of open actions.
  • Manage and maintain the technical integrity of system baselines throughout development, deployment, operations, and maintenance.
  • Support planning and test analysis associated with applicable DoD and Government Certification and Accreditation (C&A) processes.
  • Support development and review of Joint Capability Integration Development System (JCIDS) documentation.
  • Provide technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of complex hardware/software systems.
  • Support requirements elicitation, analysis, functional allocation, systems requirements reviews, concepts of operation, interface standards, system architectures, and end-to-end flow analysis.
  • Develop operational scenarios describing interactions between the system, users, and operational environment.
  • Conduct quantitative analysis of non-functional system performance areas, including reliability, maintainability, vulnerability, survivability, and producibility.
  • Coordinate system integration activities among multiple teams to ensure complete coverage of system interfaces.

  • Analyze dataflow-related reports and statistics to maintain a current assessment of operational mission system health and collection capabilities.
  • Maintain working knowledge of operational mission systems to support backend processing and proper data storage.
