About The Position

Wyetech is seeking an experienced Software Engineer Level 2 (SWE2) to support the FRACTALGLASS team in creating and enhancing a cutting-edge FORNSAT Dashboard prototype. The ideal candidate will be experienced and knowledgeable across the software engineering lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, integration, deployment, and operational support. This position requires a versatile Software Engineer with experience developing modern web applications and RESTful services using technologies such as ReactJS, Node.js, TypeScript, Elasticsearch, and MongoDB or similar databases. The successful candidate will be comfortable working across Linux environments, virtual machines, and containers, supporting both new development and the integration and maintenance of existing capabilities.

Requirements

  • Experience throughout the software engineering lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, and integration.
  • Experience developing modern applications using ReactJS.
  • Experience with Node.js.
  • Experience with TypeScript.
  • Experience with Elasticsearch.
  • Experience with MongoDB or similar database technologies.
  • Strong experience navigating and developing within Linux environments.
  • Experience working with virtual machines (VMs).
  • Experience working with containerized environments.
  • Experience developing and integrating RESTful services.
  • Ability to support both new software development and the integration of legacy capabilities.
  • Experience supporting and maintaining existing software capabilities.
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and software integration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative software development team.
  • Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Software Engineer (SWE) on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Four (4) years of additional Software Engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • United States Citizenship
  • Position appropriate security clearance is required. (e.g. Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency appropriate polygraph).

Responsibilities

  • Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
  • Debug existing software and correct defects.
  • Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.
  • Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features.
  • Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.
  • Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.
  • Write or review software and system documentation.
  • Serve as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on a particular project.
  • Design or implement complex database or data repository interfaces and queries.
  • Develop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards.
  • Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components.
  • Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, conferring with users or system engineers, analyzing systems flow, data usage, and work processes, and investigating problem areas.
  • Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance.
  • Design, develop, and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure the outcomes and consequences of design.
  • Design or implement complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints.
  • Perform quality control on team products.
  • Implement recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.
  • Oversee one or more software development teams and ensure work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used.
  • Confer with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and obtain information regarding project limitations, capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
  • Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are met.
