System & Data Integration Specialist
About The Position
Peraton is hiring a System & Data Integration Specialist to support the Federal Aviation Administration’s Enterprise Information Display System (E-IDS) modernization initiative under the BNATCS contract. The role supports deployment of modern information display technology at FAA facilities nationwide by configuring operational data, developing display layouts, integrating systems, and supporting implementation and deployments. The specialist works with air traffic controllers, Technical Operations personnel, and engineering teams to tailor E-IDS configurations to facility needs while maintaining national standards and supporting the safety and efficiency of the National Airspace System. This is a remote-based opportunity for candidates residing in the contiguous United States. The position requires 50–90% travel to support FAA facility installations, system integration, testing, and deployments, with potential travel outside the continental United States.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of related experience, or a master’s degree and 10 years of experience, or an associate degree and 14 years of experience, or a high school diploma/equivalent and 16 years of experience.
- Demonstrated experience with hardware and software deployment or installation in enterprise environments.
- Hands-on experience configuring, managing, and validating one or more of Cisco, Dell OpenManage, and HPE/Aruba Web Interface infrastructure technologies.
- Experience analyzing end-to-end system functionality, validating architecture, tracing data flows, and troubleshooting interface issues across integrated systems.
- Familiarity with Linux-based systems and environments.
- Experience with interface configuration tools, layout editors, template management, and page builders.
- Ability to travel 50–90% to support FAA implementation and deployment activities.
Nice To Haves
- Hands-on experience with Local Data Administration (LDA) and National Data Configuration (NDC).
- Experience supporting FAA E-IDS, NIDS, ERIDS, IDS-4, or comparable information display systems.
- Familiarity with FAA automation systems, including STARS, TDLS, TFDM, or ERAM.
- Familiarity with FAA air traffic control systems or comparable mission-critical operational environments.
- Understanding of network connectivity, Cisco diagnostics, communications equipment, and system interfaces.
- Understanding of Air Traffic Control (ATC) operational workflows and time-critical information requirements.
- Systems integration experience supporting complex, multi-vendor network, communications, infrastructure, and software environments.
- Knowledge of relational databases, schemas, data normalization, and data relationships.
- Experience troubleshooting operational data synchronization and interface inconsistencies.
- Understanding of human factors engineering and usability principles for operational displays.
- Familiarity with systems engineering lifecycle processes, configuration management, and change control.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Local Data Administration (LDA) configurations by mapping National Data Configuration (NDC) elements to facility-specific requirements.
- Translate operational requirements into data mappings, system configurations, and display layouts.
- Configure and validate operational displays, templates, data fields, and system parameters.
- Maintain configuration accuracy, consistency, and interoperability across FAA facilities.
- Support E-IDS integration across applications, operational data, network components, and facility systems.
- Coordinate hardware setup, software configuration, installation, and system cutover activities.
- Validate system interfaces, data flows, and connectivity across integrated environments.
- Support site acceptance testing, commissioning, operational readiness, and post-deployment activities.
- Perform configuration testing, data validation, and system verification to ensure operational readiness.
- Troubleshoot data discrepancies, display issues, Linux environments, and network connectivity.
- Review technical specifications, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), engineering drawings, and configuration baselines.
- Verify implementation packages and resolve technical issues before deployment.
- Partner with FAA air traffic controllers, Technical Operations personnel, engineers, and program stakeholders to gather and validate requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve integration and implementation challenges.
- Maintain configuration records, data mappings, display layouts, and technical documentation.
- Communicate technical findings, implementation status, and recommendations to engineering and program leadership.
