About The Position

Allegheny Health Network (AHN), formerly entitled Medicine Institute, primarily located at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, seeks a highly skilled and compassionate physician leader with expertise in Medicine. This position offers a System Chair leadership role in a growing and dynamic Medicine program dedicated to clinical and translational research as well as exceptional patient care. The Chair will work with other leaders to develop and implement strategy and processes for patient care. The Chair shall also maintain all current and future standards of care, both inpatient and outpatient as well as accreditations needed to assure service for the region. The Chair will assume responsibilities for research and development within the division and connect these activities to the larger goals of AHN. The successful candidate will be considered for the role of AHN System Chair, Department of Medicine.

Requirements

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
Licensed in the state of Pennsylvania prior to employment
Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Strong commitment to patient care and education

Contribute to research activity within the department, including investigator-initiated trials, cooperative group and industry-sponsored clinical trials, laboratory investigation, and publication of research findings
