About The Position

Credo is seeking a System Application Engineer to join our AE Team. The role centers on verifying and validating post-silicon high-speed SerDes Ethernet products—developing efficient Python automation scripts, evaluating chip performance at the system level across varied environments, and improving SerDes algorithms and performance. Working closely with the Design, Production, and Firmware teams, you'll ensure the chip runs reliably under different conditions and use sampling scopes, BERTs, and other high-speed test equipment to analyze and debug high-speed systems. This is a full-time onsite position based in San Jose, CA. Base salary range is $100,000 - $130,000 a year. The base salary offer will depend on factors such as education, experience, training, skills, qualifications, and location. This position is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, equity and a full range of medical and other benefits.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with 3+ years of experience.
  • Proficiency in Python, including the ability to understand and develop code within existing frameworks.
  • Basic knowledge of DSP and digital design.
  • Experience handling and operating high-speed test equipment.
  • Strong multitasking skills to manage competing requests.
  • Team-oriented and analytical, with a self-driven desire to deliver beyond the defined scope.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with C and firmware development; familiarity with Git.
  • Knowledge of Ethernet at the top level, including Retimer, Bitmux, MAC/PCS, and MAC/Sec.
  • Experience developing automation test scripts for link-up, training, and diagnostics.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking, with the ability to adapt to new generations of technology.

Responsibilities

  • Develop automation test scripts and SerDes algorithms in Python and C.
  • Perform system-level verification and validation across different test environments.
  • Analyze and debug high-speed systems across a range of data rates.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to produce stable firmware with SerDes algorithms.
  • Develop SLT test scripts and work with the Production team to run high-volume sample tests.
  • Generate high-quality reports based on test results.
  • Support customers on internal chip and IP evaluations and demonstrations.
