About The Position

We are a national, nonprofit organization established in 1929 by a special Act of Parliament to oversee the medical education of specialists in Canada. Reporting to the Team Lead, IT Corporate Systems, as a System Analyst you will work with Business Analysts, Developers, Technical Architects, Third-Party Vendors, and Client Groups to translate business requirements into technical solution requirements with the goal of increasing technological efficiency, capacity, and adoption. The System Analyst will coordinate all projects designed to implement the technical solution and will conduct second or third-tier production support to ensure the effectiveness and use of the solution.

Requirements

  • Level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree or College diploma in Computer Science, Computer technologies, Business, or a related field
  • 5 years of application experience with at least 3 years of hands-on functional analysis.
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems / Learning Experience Platforms (e.g. Docebo)

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with client groups and technical partners to elicit and document business requirements for technical solutions.
  • Acts as a bridge between business units and the third-party vendor to ensure proper translation of business requirements to technical solution requirements
  • Manage and maintain business requirements and design information from inception to retirement to ensure validity and accuracy.
  • Identifies solution options that meet business needs and estimates the potential value that could be realized for each solution option to confirm that the proposed solutions are optimal.
  • Provides Level 2 or Level 3 application-specific support, including troubleshooting and configuration and changes to settings, to the user community as defined by service level objectives.
  • Provides Functional Support through the configuration of systems according to business's needs and works to understand a business' processes to manage the day-to-day functioning of a program or system.
  • Works with other support resources including third party vendors to ensure the successful resolution of issues.
  • Identifies high-level risks, assumptions, and constraints to ensure that key stakeholder needs are understood.
  • Works with Client Groups, Third Party Vendors and Developers to develop a project schedule based on key deliverables and timelines to define the duration of the project.
  • Identifies and assigns roles and responsibilities for resources working on the project to ensure that the optimal resources are being assigned to the work.
  • Develops and maintains test plans and test cases to ensure that the solutions function as designed.
  • Acts as a Lead for user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure that solutions meet user requirements and are properly signed off prior to promotion to a Production environment.
  • Defines training requirements, prepares training plans, and produces training material to ensure high adoption of the solution.
