About The Position

Customized Assistance Services (CAS) tracking systems are designed to streamline the reporting and monitoring of programmatic and financial information, interfacing with existing HRA systems. These systems enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of CAS services and programs, aiding in meeting federal and state mandates and supporting HRA's goals of promoting self-sufficiency for those served. The role involves developing system design specifications, including database, communication, hardware, network, security, storage, and software configurations. It also includes creating structured diagrams, maintaining documentation for various systems, and developing operational and installation procedures. The position requires performing system design work, collaborating with staff for program implementation and enhancements, creating and testing program systems, designing reports and security mechanisms, and providing technical assistance to support staff and other programmers. Additionally, the role involves testing programs and systems, developing and implementing IT quality assurance standards, and documenting testing methodologies and results.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience with writing application software, data analysis, and data access.
  • Experience with data structures, data manipulation, databases, design, programming, testing, and implementation.
  • Experience with technical and user documentation, and software conversions.
  • Exposure to environments including but not limited to mainframe, mid-range, personal computers, and laptops.
  • Lead in the design of program specifications and the implementation of software solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop system design specifications, including databases, communication systems, hardware, network, security, storage, and software configurations.
  • Develop structured diagrams for the specifications of databases, communication systems, computer or storage area networks, security or network programs.
  • Develop, compile, maintain, and document configurations of databases, servers, computers, security and network monitor systems, packaged programs, macros, utilities, and communication systems.
  • Develop operational and installation procedures for communication systems, hardware, network, security, storage, and software.
  • Develop guidelines and upgrade techniques of new operational procedures for the support of databases, hardware systems, operating systems software, network systems software, security, and client-server systems.
  • Develop detailed systems operations designs.
  • Work with staff to plan program systems implementation, enhancements, and changes.
  • Create, test, and maintain program systems.
  • Design reports, audit trails/logs, and security mechanisms.
  • Provide assistance to technical support staff when they are unable to resolve a program, database, or IT issue.
  • Occasionally contact customers to clarify the intent of a new feature or resolve a problem.
  • Provide general programming assistance to other programmers/projects.
  • Test programs and systems and integrate system modules.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor information technology quality assurance standards.
  • Document and report testing methodology and results.
