About The Position

The systems administrator will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, security, and efficiency. The position also involves cybersecurity responsibilities and duties. The IT Systems Administrator will play a critical role in supporting our technological operations and collaborating with various teams to meet business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Two or more years of IT Systems Administrator experience and IT service management.
  • Proficiency in administering Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, etc.).
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Experience with Microsoft services such as M365 and Entra ID
  • Familiarity with data backup and recovery strategies and systems
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently.
  • Multitask effectively and prioritize tasks.
  • Comprehension of cybersecurity principles and best practices, to include but not limited to, endpoint protection software, and email protection services
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholder.
  • Ability to remain calm, establish priorities, and coordinate resources during business-critical incidents.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making skills in complex and time-sensitive situations.
  • Ability to establish accountability through clear expectations, performance measures, follow-through, and constructive coaching.
  • Customer-service mindset with a commitment to operational excellence, continuous improvement, and measurable outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and maintains the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, and enterprise applications.
  • Monitors system performance and proactively identifies and resolves issues to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
  • Installs, configures, and upgrades on-premises hardware and software components as needed.
  • Implements and maintains security measures to protect the organization's data and systems from unauthorized access, malware, and other threats.
  • Performs regular backups and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
  • Works with the Service Desk agents to provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users, resolving IT-related problems in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Collaborates with other IT team members and departments to implement new technology solutions and optimize existing systems.
  • Documents system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to facilitate knowledge sharing and training.
  • Stays current with the latest technology trends, best practices, and security standards to continually improve the organization's IT infrastructure.
  • Works extended and/or alternative hours to respond to emergencies outside of regular business hours, or to conduct infrastructure maintenance.
  • Works closely with vendors that provide infrastructure or cybersecurity support and solutions
  • Any additional duties as assigned.
