About The Position

The Department of Social and Health Services is seeking a System Administrator to join our Service Desk which provides statewide technical support to the Economic Services Administration, Community Services Division. This is an excellent opportunity to use your IT skills to support the technical needs of our employees. In-person training will be required in either Spokane, Clallam, Thurston, or Pierce County.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree including nine semester or 15 quarter hours of computer science courses AND four years of consultative, administrative, or supervisory experience in information technology analysis, system maintenance, or troubleshooting/problem resolution experience, or analyzing, designing or programming computer systems applications or databases.
  • OR An Associate's degree or completion of an accredited vocational training program in an information technology or related program AND six years of consultative, administrative, or supervisory experience in information technology analysis, system maintenance, or troubleshooting/problem resolution experience or analyzing, designing or programming computer systems applications or databases.
  • OR Eight years of Information Technology experience.
  • Experience may substitute year for year of the required education.
  • Concurrently: a minimum of three years (within the last (4) years) experience implementing, maintaining, supporting, and administering multiple Windows 10 workstations or newer, MS Windows 2019 Server or newer, Microsoft Office 2019 or O365 or newer.
  • Employees driving on state business must have a valid driver's license.
  • Employees driving a privately owned vehicle on state business must have liability insurance on the privately owned vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Provide remote systems administration involving systems analysis, planning, and coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware, software systems, and systems environment.
  • Ensure security and availability of the Automated Client Eligibility System (ACES), Electronic Jobs Automated System, and Barcode system.
  • Diagnose and repair server hardware and provide server administration.
  • Receive remote technical assistance call requests through Avaya.
  • Provide network support services related to Local Area Network involving planning and coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of physical network components.
  • Provide primary technical and customer support for Economic Services Administration IT Systems.
  • Participate in and lead regional and/or statewide projects.
  • Administration of mobile phones/communication devices.
  • Manage auxiliary IT devices and software resources.
