About The Position

The System Administrator manages and maintains the City of Southlake’s Microsoft servers, computer and network security environment, Active Directory, backups, virus protection, and security patches. The role implements and monitors security services and protective measures; performs domain administration and Group Policy design and configuration; operates and monitors the system update environment; applies and monitors virus protection; manages data center infrastructure and standards; tracks IT assets for licensing and lifecycle events; and implements security and monitoring for data access controls. The position also supports the City’s evolving artificial intelligence, automation, and cloud initiatives by helping integrate AI-enabled technologies into secure, resilient, and appropriately governed enterprise infrastructure. Relevant infrastructure areas include identity, access, storage, compute, networking, logging, monitoring, privacy, and data-protection controls.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Three to five years of experience in an enterprise computer environment.
Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert.
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.

Nice To Haves

VMware Certified - Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV).
AI literacy and practical experience with automation, AI-assisted administration, or secure cloud/AI infrastructure.
Possession of an MCSE or MCP.
