About The Position

An exploration of sexuality as a social and historical construction, including the examination of basic assumptions about sexuality, as well as the range of lived experiences and meanings of what we have come to know as sexuality.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Sociology or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrate professional training and/or experience relevant to the substantive content of the course.
  • University teaching experience (course directorship; tutorial leadership not considered).
  • Evidence of explicit sociological orientation.
  • Internal members of the CTF bargaining unit as defined by Article 13.7.2.17.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver lectures for SY408A, Sociology of Sexualities.
  • Assess student performance based on the Candidate Application Form (CAF), Curriculum Vitae, and any specifically referenced pages in supplemental documents.
  • Manage course administration, including marking and grading, as per Article 28.2 of the Collective Agreement.
  • Coordinate large classes or multi-section courses, as per Article 28.3 of the Collective Agreement.
