Governments and their agencies face complex and often unexpected challenges (fires, floods, pandemics, and unrest). To respond, and make meaningful and rational decisions, public bodies have a variety of tools: Inquiries, Inquests, and Investigations. The intention of this course is to give students a critical understanding of these options and how they can participate effectively as decision makers, representatives, and stakeholders. This will be achieved by examining the differences between Public Inquiries, Coroners Inquests, and ad hoc investigations.
