About The Position

The course examines the social construction of the suicidal state of mind, attempted suicide, completed suicide, suicide rates and the social problem of suicide.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Sociology or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrate professional training and/or experience relevant to the substantive content of the course.
  • University teaching experience (course directorship; tutorial leadership not considered).
  • Evidence of explicit sociological orientation.
  • Internal members of the CTF bargaining unit as defined by Article 13.7.2.17.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver lecture instruction for the course SY231B, Sociology of Suicide.
  • Assess student performance through various methods, potentially including grading and marking.
  • Manage and coordinate a large class size of up to 60 students.
