Switchware Card Administrator
About The Position
IBC Bank is seeking a Switchware Card Administrator to monitor the IBC Switchware/Informix/AIX environments and the OnDot Card Control system. This role involves building strong relationships with vendors, assisting with upgrades and patches, troubleshooting card-related issues, and creating reports and databases. A commitment to collaborative problem-solving, sophisticated design, and maintaining product quality is essential. The position requires subject matter expertise in transaction processing, including Point of Sale (POS), ATM-initiated transactions, and OnDot Card Control. The administrator will also assist in requirement gathering, developing, testing, and implementing SQL scripts, and administering the Informix database server environment. Identifying and resolving bottlenecks and bugs is a key responsibility. Effective communication with team members, customers, management, and other IT groups is crucial. The role may require after-hours support during major outages or updates.
Requirements
- Proficient in ISO 8583 processing and electronic transfer, with a good knowledge of their ecosystems.
- Knowledge of Debit Card processing and lifecycle of these transaction types.
- Knowledge and understanding of Electronic funds transfer (EFT).
- Knowledge of banking principles and concepts.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to write basic SQL scripts when required by the business.
- Knowledge of Informix 4GL, Informix SQL environments.
- Familiar with Software Development Life Cycle process.
- Familiar with Software Development Change Management procedure.

- Building firm Relationships with the IBC vendors is paramount to the success of this position (CSFi, Jack Henry, NCR, Visa, OnDot).
- Assist in administering upgrades and patches under the guidance of the senior Administrator on the team.
- Installing the release/patch to the test environment, test and document the results following the established Application Development Change Management Policy/Procedures.
- Critical thinking, attention to detail, communication and documenting the root cause and solution will be required.
- Assist in creating reports and databases when investigating any issues.
- A commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and maintaining a quality product is essential.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the IBC electronic funds transfer systems and their related components.
- Provide subject matter expertise for transaction processing questions and issues related to Point of Sale (POS), ATM-initiated transactions and OnDot Card Control.
- Plan, provision, and execute updates and upgrades to the Switchware/Informix/AIX and OnDot environments in coordination with other groups as necessary.
- Assist in trouble shooting card related issues that are reported by the Card Services.
- Assist in requirement gathering, develop, test, and implement SQL scripts to satisfy customer requests, or improve system reliability / efficiency.
- Assist in the Administration effort for the Informix database server environment in coordination with the Informix vendor.
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues.
- Help maintain the quality of the IBC Debit/ATM card systems.
- Assist after hours when major outages occur, or updates are implemented.
- Communicate effectively with team members, customers, management, and other IT groups.
