About The Position

Turtle is seeking an experienced Switchgear Specialist for its La Porte, Texas location. The role is responsible for interpreting blueprints and electrical drawings and using manufacturer software to prepare customer quotes for commercial and industrial switchgear projects. The specialist coordinates bids and projects with internal teams and external parties, maintains vendor and customer relationships, and ensures timely completion and project profitability. The role also provides customer service and follows established standards for project reporting, communication, and documentation.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience in the electrical business.
Understanding of switchgear.
Knowledge of project-management techniques and tools.
Proven people-management experience.
Proven risk-management experience.
Strong organization skills and ability to establish customer relationships.
Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe.

Nice To Haves

Experience working directly with electrical contractors is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Estimate commercial and industrial switchgear projects.
Read blueprints and use electronic bid-management software to produce quotes.
Manage multiple projects during the bid stage and help manage projects after sale.
Organize the bid schedule according to project complexity and due dates.
Coordinate bids and projects with the switchgear project team and outside and inside sales teams.
Ensure timely completion and profitability of projects.
Manage and coordinate all internal and external parties involved in orders.
Manage and maintain vendor and customer relationships.
Provide customer service that differentiates Turtle & Hughes in the marketplace.
Follow established standards and procedures for project reporting, communication, and documentation.
Maintain detailed records of pricing quotes, change orders, and internal and external correspondence.
