About The Position

Turtle is seeking an experienced Switchgear Specialist for its La Porte, Texas location. The role is responsible for estimating commercial and industrial switchgear projects by interpreting blueprints and electrical drawings and using manufacturer and electronic bid management software to produce customer quotes. The specialist organizes bids around complexity and deadlines, coordinates with project and sales teams, and helps manage projects after a sale. The role also oversees order coordination, project profitability, customer and vendor relationships, project reporting, communication, and documentation.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience in the electrical business.
Understanding of switchgear.
Knowledge of project management techniques and tools.
Proven experience in people management.
Proven experience in risk management.
Highly organized, with strong customer-relationship skills.
Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe.

Nice To Haves

Experience working directly with electrical contractors is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Estimate commercial and industrial switchgear projects.
Read blueprints and electrical drawings and use electronic bid management software to produce quotes.
Manage multiple projects during the bid stage and help manage projects after a sale.
Organize the bid schedule according to project complexity and due dates.
Coordinate bids and manage projects with switchgear project teams, outside sales, and inside sales.
Ensure timely project completion and profitability.
Coordinate with internal and external parties involved in orders.
Manage and maintain vendor and customer relationships.
Provide customer service that differentiates Turtle & Hughes from competitors.
Follow established standards and procedures for project reporting, communication, and documentation.
Maintain detailed records of pricing quotes, change orders, and internal and external correspondence.
