The Switchboard Operator is responsible for managing the organization’s telephone switchboard system. The position receives incoming calls and reroutes them to the various departments and employees as requested. The Operator has to respond to emergency alerts and routes information to the appropriate parties, as well as have knowledge of the hospital’s emergency codes and procedures. The position is also responsible for updating the daily On-Call Schedule, batching checks as well as other clerical duties.
