About The Position

This role involves assessing and maintaining switches and other peripherals, completing routine tasks like backups and orders, and troubleshooting technical issues. The technician will follow established procedures, safety guidelines, and interpret corporate engineering designs. Collaboration with corporate engineering, IPD, other markets, and manufacturers is key to designing circuits and resolving complex technical problems. The position requires participation in an on-call rotation and willingness to work after hours for maintenance and outages.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
3-5 years experience as customer technician (commercial)
Ability to work individually and with a team in a stressful and demanding work environment.
Willing to work after hours when outages occur
Requires sufficient emotional stability to work effectively under stressful conditions
Must have the ability to identify cable colors

Nice To Haves

Experience with transport equipment DACS 3/1 Mulitplexer
Experience testing t_3s and T-1s with test equipment
Experience with installation and acceptance testing of telecom hardware

Responsibilities

Assess and ascertain the condition of switches and other peripherals.
Complete routine maintenance, weekly backups, daily orders and tickets in a timely manner.
Troubleshoot and resolved problems.
Follow established procedures and guidelines for maintenance.
Follow necessary safety procedures.
Interpret analyze and execute corporate engineering designs.
Work closely with corporate engineering, IPD, other markets, and manufacturers of engineers to assist in designing circuits and resolve complex technical issues.
Participate in an on-call rotation.
Willing to work after hours for maintenance windows and outages as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
