About The Position

This role involves setting up and operating Citizen Swiss machines to produce high-precision parts for aerospace, medical, and defense customers, where tolerances of a few tenths of a thousandth of an inch are critical. The machinist will be responsible for their own setups, maintaining tight tolerances, and proactively identifying and resolving issues. The work environment is a clean, climate-controlled facility with opportunities for overtime.

Requirements

5–10 years of Swiss CNC setup and operation experience.
Experience holding ±0.001" or tighter tolerances consistently.
Strong blueprint and GD&T reading skills.
Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges.
Knowledge of feeds, speeds, and tooling for troubleshooting.
Reliability, good communication, and ownership of work.
Ability to stand for a shift and lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

Citizen Swiss machine experience strongly preferred.
Experience with Mitsubishi controls or PartMaker.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate Citizen Swiss machines to produce complex parts with tight tolerances (±0.001" or tighter).
Perform operations such as drilling, grooving, turning, threading, and finishing.
Complete setups from start to finish and verify repeatability before releasing to production.
Make minor G-code/CAM edits as needed.
Identify and flag manufacturability issues to engineering.
Diagnose and fix machining issues to minimize downtime.
Optimize offsets, feeds, and speeds for cycle time while maintaining quality.
Maintain tooling for consistent performance and finish.
Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.
Perform self-inspections using micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges.
Maintain complete setup sheets and inspection records to AS9100 standards.
Ensure clear handoffs of completed parts.
Suggest improvements for job runs or setups.
