About The Position

The Swing Central Utility operates putty lines, blank stall patch equipment, size sanders, saws, and a saw forklift. The role supports trained operators and helps achieve safety, quality, and production goals while continuously improving operations and the department. The employee may also work in other Panel Plant work centers, including layup, SCP, and dryers, as needed. The role requires following safety procedures, including lockout/tagout when required; reading putty color charts and scheduling lists; completing production reports and entering production information into the MRP system; verifying customer notes; and ensuring sawed material meets company quality standards. The employee must be TWI-certified in Central areas and complete required job safety analyses and certifications for Putty, Edgeplug, and Blank Stall Patch. Other duties may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

Must be a current Central employee.
Basic computer skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to direct and supervise others.
Ability to prioritize work to meet quality and productivity goals.
Must be certified through the TWI certification program.
Forklift experience.
Ability to read and comprehend scheduling lists, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Good communication and listening skills.
Ability to use a micrometer and perform basic arithmetic, including calculating basic percentages.
Ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions, identify problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and implement solutions.
Ability to walk and stand for more than two-thirds of the shift; use and reach with hands and arms; climb or balance for more than one-third of the shift; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for more than one-third of the shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Personal protective equipment is required at all times, including hearing protection and safety glasses.

Responsibilities

Operate putty lines, blank stall patch equipment, size sanders, saws, and a saw forklift.
Follow safety rules and regulations, including lockout/tagout procedures when required.
Read putty color charts, complete putty production reports, enter production information into the MRP system, and verify customer notes.
Saw material using the Auto Saw and Manual Saw, ensuring it meets States Industries quality standards.
Maintain general housekeeping and help organize the breaking schedule through the Central department.
Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment and meet production and quality standards for the Putty areas.
Support 5S and Kaizen programs and help achieve team safety, production, and quality goals.
Complete JSAs and certifications for Putty, Edgeplug, and Blank Stall Patch.
Work in other Panel Plant work centers, including layup, SCP, and dryers, as needed.
Maintain attendance standards outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
