About The Position

Central High School is seeking a Swimming, Diving Coach for its winter program. The assignment is contingent upon sufficient participation and funding, and the position remains open until filled. Salary is based on coaching experience in the activity: Step 1 applies during the first year, Step 2 during the second year, and Step 3 beginning in the third year. The listed salary steps are $1,885, $2,296, and $2,496, respectively, under the present collective bargaining agreement. Interested teachers, including those who have previously served in the position, should apply.

The coach oversees the sport and travel program, selects the team for the travel season, plans daily practices, and supervises students. The role includes checking athlete eligibility and attendance, setting expectations, managing equipment, arranging building permits, and supervising students on bus trips to away games. CPR training and completion of the “Concussion in Sports” course are required.

Requirements

• Knowledge of the sport or activity.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to successfully instruct and encourage athletes.
• CPR/First Aid certification and Coaches Education and Concussion certification are required for all coaching candidates.
• CPR training and completion of the “Concussion in Sports” course are required.
• Must complete the MIAA coaches education course.

Responsibilities
