About The Position

Under the direction of the Aquatic Program Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day operations of our Swim Lesson Program, inspire and support a team of instructors, and help create a fun, safe, and welcoming environment where swimmers of all ages can learn, grow, and thrive. Requirements

  • Background in aquatics instruction (5+ years)
  • Candidate must have great customer service and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • WSI instruction preferred
  • Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR preferred

Responsibilities

  • Be on deck, visible to participants, parents, assistant managers, and instructors.
  • Observe instructors and students by rotating around pool deck/levels.
  • Keep participant attendance records in lesson binder.
  • Keep parents/guardians in appropriate viewing areas.
  • Make materials available for instructors (kickboards, rings, etc).
  • Teach lessons/combine classes in cases of instructor’s absences.
  • Manage instructor attendance, absenteeism and tardiness. Follow disciplinary procedures where necessary.
  • Help test participants on beginning and final days of the session.
  • Answer patron’s questions or direct them to Aquatic Program Supervisor.
  • Coordinate/communicate all messages and situations with Aquatic Program Supervisor.
  • Assist Aquatic Program Supervisor with evaluations of lessons and other office work.
  • Attend meetings with Aquatic Program Supervisor and other supervisory staff.
  • Lead instructor trainings and give feedback to swim instructors.
  • Monitor both pools for maximum efficiency. Move patrons and other programming around as necessary.
  • Act in a leadership role in case of an emergency. Know the emergency procedure to be followed in case of an accident.
  • Must possess good safety awareness and judgment.
  • Perform job in a safe manner and in compliance with the District policies, procedures, work and safety rules, and the employee handbook.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
