About The Position

The Swim Instructor will provide quality swim instruction in-line with the American Red Cross Swim Lessons Curriculum. This role involves teaching all 4 competitive strokes and working with children. The instructor will maintain accurate records of participant progress and communicate with caregivers regarding expectations, skills progress, and next steps. Additionally, the instructor will work collaboratively as part of a team dedicated to fostering confidence, friendships, and skills among participants, acting as a dependable team member and coach. Attendance at staff meetings is also required.

Requirements

• Experience working with children
• Ability to pass a traditional swim test demonstrating 4 competitive strokes
• Minimum 16 years old

Nice To Haves

• Willing to obtain proper training certifications

Responsibilities

• Teach all 4 competitive strokes
• Provide in-water correction effectively
• Provide quality swim instruction in-line with American Red Cross Swim Lessons Curriculum
• Maintain accurate records for swim participant progress
• Ensure communication to caregivers regarding expectations, skills progress, next steps, etc
• Work as part of a team committed to building confidence, friendships and skills among participants
• Actively work to be a dependable team member and coach
• Attend staff meetings
• Complete program specific and employee orientation training by required timeline
