About The Position

Aqua-Tots Swim School is seeking an energetic Swim Instructor who enjoys working with children and swimming. The instructor teaches children of all ages and skill levels in a fun, safe environment, helping them build water-safety skills and improve their swimming abilities. The role is onsite at the school’s facility, which features full-sized pools and 91-degree water. No prior teaching experience is necessary; indoor coaching and training, including paid training, are provided. The position is part-time, with the opportunity to pick up extra shifts. Shifts are 4–6 hours and involve teaching 8 or 9 classes back to back. The instructor must be available for one weekend shift, either Saturday or Sunday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The posting lists starting pay of $15.50+ per hour and says the position is to be filled as soon as possible.

Requirements

• A passion for swimming and a sincere interest in working with children.
• A positive attitude and the ability to work well with children.
• Availability to work one weekend shift, Saturday or Sunday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Ability to work 4–6 hour shifts teaching 8 or 9 classes back to back.
• Follow safety guidelines and Aqua-Tots procedures.
• No prior teaching experience is necessary; training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Teach swimming lessons to children of all ages and skill levels.
• Help students develop water-safety skills and improve their swimming abilities.
• Create and implement lesson plans.
• Conduct group and individual lessons.
• Provide constructive feedback to students and their parents.
• Ensure the safety of all participants in the pool area.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work and teaching environment.
• Follow safety guidelines and Aqua-Tots procedures.
• Attend monthly in-service training.
• Track students’ swimming progress through the levels.
• Provide outstanding customer service to guests.
