Spring/Summer Swim Instructor
About The Position
The Swim Instructor's primary duty is to teach swim lessons to children and adults. The ideal candidate will enjoy teaching progressive swim lessons, creating and fostering a team culture that is centered on achieving goals with high levels of customer service and professionalism, communicating effectively with team members and members, and maintaining a safe environment at all times. This role also requires familiarity with acac programs to inform members with questions or updates. The position offers flexible scheduling and involves being in the water while promoting a friendly, welcoming, and high-energy community.
Requirements
- Certified Starfish Swimming Instructor (or equivalent)
- Certified Lifeguard (If under the age of 16)
- Superior customer service skills; ability to work with both children and adults
- Ability to be creative in finding the best teaching methods to accommodate different populations
- Must be at least 15 years old
Nice To Haves
- High School diploma preferred
- Prior aquatics teaching or coaching experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Teach progressive swim lessons

- Inform members about acac programs with questions or updates
- Actively participate in swim lessons using repetitive arm and leg motions
- Swim in both deep and shallow water
- Work in an often warm and humid environment with heightened noise
- Work in both warm water and cool water pools
- Work varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Read, sign, and abide by the policies included in the Team Member Handbook
- Park in team member-designated areas
- Assist in any area of the club to keep the club neat and clean
- Assist with Service Days
- Assist with acac programs, special events, or activities outside your department
- Promptly return messages
- Exhibit a positive attitude at all times
- Deliver five-star service to members and guests with friendliness, direct eye contact, and a pleasant demeanor at all times
