About The Position
As part of the Y team, you will play an important role ensuring the safety of our pool patrons and/or teaching kids to swim. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about water safety and teaching swimming as a critical life skill, offering flexibility for school schedules and potential for summer hours.
Requirements
- Must be a minimum of 16 years of age
- Bronze Cross or Higher certification
- YMCA Swim (YSI) or Swim For Life Instructor (SFL) certification
- Clear Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry Check
- Enjoy working with kids
- Able to engage, motivate, encourage and guide members
- Able to build positive relationships with members, staff and volunteers
- Ability to deal with challenging situations
Nice To Haves
- LSI (Lifesaving Instructor) certification
