About The Position

The Camp Thunderbird YMCA is seeking part-time swim instructors to lead swim lessons for program participants at our pool. We are looking for candidates with open availability. This is a part-time, seasonal position (summer) which starts at $14.00 per hour. We are looking for candidates who can work over the summer months up to 40 hours per week.

Requirements

• Current CPR, AED and First Aid certifications.
• Candidates must have open availability.
• Candidates must be able to work regular weekly hours with all ages.
• Candidates must be enthusiastic and energetic, with strong interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Current YMCA, American Red Cross Lifeguard, or Ellis and YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor or WSI certifications are preferred but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Using different tools and teaching techniques, swim instructors will work with small groups of students teaching swimming skills, basic water safety, and the YMCA core values.
