About The Position
At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Swedish Linguist you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. This role serves as a natively fluent language specialist, with a Swedish background to support a social media program. The preferred candidate will have the ability to read/write at a native fluency, with a thorough understanding of the area. The specialist develops and maintains expertise with designated regional issues and draws upon publicly available online information resources. They read, analyze, and draft communications regarding regional and ideological discussions in specified foreign language media environments. They examine current media statements or postings to support trend analysis and identify key communicators. The role demonstrates reading and writing expertise in the assigned language and incorporates custom social media solutions to comprehend online environments and communicate trends effectively. The linguist will support operations planning and demonstrate knowledge of online social media and different technologies, documenting activities, notes, informative papers, or whitepapers written in English. Some travel may be required. The ability to work nonstandard hours and be in on-call status for periods of time may be required.
Requirements
- 0-3 years' experience required.
- Bachelor's Degree required; experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Minimum DoW Secret clearance required; select positions require TS/SCI.
- Select candidates will be language-tested.
