About The Position

The Senior Vice President of Product Management leads CoBank's enterprise digital product management strategy, operating model, governance, and portfolio execution in alignment with the bank's business strategy, Digital First priorities, technology architecture, customer experience objectives, and safety-and-soundness expectations. This role is accountable for the vision, prioritization, delivery, performance, and value realization of digital products, platforms, experiences, and capabilities that enable customer, associate, operational, and business outcomes. In partnership with Technology & Data Innovation leadership, and other functions across CoBank, this role translates enterprise strategy into integrated digital product roadmaps and investment priorities. The role is focused on technology-enabled digital products, platforms, experiences, and capabilities that support and advance the bank's broader strategic objectives. The Senior Vice President of Product Management serves as an enterprise advisor and decision partner on digital product strategy, product portfolio governance, investment prioritization, product operating model maturity, customer and associate experience, scaled agile/product-led ways of working, and measurable business value realization. This role builds and matures product management capabilities across the enterprise and leads a high-performing team responsible for delivering sustainable, scalable, compliant, and strategically aligned digital product outcomes.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Business, finance, technology, product management, information systems, engineering, or related discipline. required
15 years of progressive leadership experience in product management, digital product strategy, technology-enabled transformation, product operating models, portfolio governance, or related disciplines. required
8 years of experience leading enterprise digital product portfolios, product management teams, cross-functional delivery teams, or large-scale digital/transformation programs. required
Prior Experience influencing executive leaders, governing complex cross-functional portfolios, making enterprise-level prioritization decisions, and aligning product investments to measurable business outcomes. required
Prior Experience with scaled agile, product-led delivery, design thinking, product lifecycle governance, product analytics, value realization, and modern product management practices. required
Advanced experience with regulatory, risk, control, cybersecurity, data governance, operational resiliency, and safety-and-soundness considerations applicable to digital products in a financial services environment.
Executive-level strategic thinking, judgment, and business acumen with the ability to translate enterprise strategy into product portfolio priorities, operating plans, investment decisions, and measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

Creates, implements, and is accountable for the enterprise digital product management vision, strategy, governance model, and multi-year roadmap in alignment with CoBank’s business strategy, Digital First roadmap, technology architecture, customer and associate experience goals, and long-term business objectives.
Leads enterprise-level product portfolio governance, including intake, prioritization, sequencing, funding alignment, capacity planning, tradeoff decisions, and value realization. Advises executive governance bodies on product investment decisions, portfolio health, delivery risks, customer impact, and expected business outcomes.
Leads enterprise digital product management for technology-enabled products, platforms, experiences, and capabilities. Accountable for successful cross-collaboration with internal and external partners to ensure digital capabilities enable business strategy, customer growth, associate productivity, and operational effectiveness.
Designs, matures, and scales an enterprise product operating model, Design practitioners, data, architecture, engineering, risk, operations, and other supporting capabilities necessary to deliver sustainable business outcomes and exceptional customer experiences. Translates overarching functional objectives and broader CoBank priorities to key goals and tactical priorities for Product Management division.
Responsible for advancing CoBank’s transformation agenda by embedding product-led planning, prioritization, discovery, delivery, adoption, measurement, and continuous improvement practices. Partners with transformation governance forums to translate strategic priorities into clear product outcomes, capability roadmaps, and measurable milestones.
Ensures digital product roadmaps translate strategic priorities into clear capabilities, delivery milestones, adoption plans, operating model impacts, risk controls, technology and data dependencies, and value-realization measures. Oversees product lifecycle governance from discovery and ideation through launch, optimization, scaling, modernization, and sunsetting.
Accountable for the customer- and associate-centered product practices using research, feedback, journey insights, design thinking, operational data, and market analysis to improve experiences, reduce friction, increase self-service capabilities, support customer relationships, and enhance associate productivity.
Establishes outcome-based product performance expectations and executive-level metrics related to adoption, customer and associate experience, operational efficiency, revenue enablement, risk reduction, delivery health, capability maturity, and business value. Ensures product teams measure not only delivery progress but also realized value and sustained adoption.
Ensures digital product strategies, roadmaps, and delivery practices align with regulatory expectations, bank policies, internal controls, cybersecurity requirements, data governance, operational resiliency, compliance obligations, and safety-and-soundness principles. proactively manages product portfolio risks.
Influences senior leaders across the enterprise to align product priorities, funding, capacity, and transformation outcomes. Facilitates executive-level tradeoff decisions where product priorities compete across business lines, customer segments, regulatory needs, and enterprise transformation goals.
Partners with internal stakeholders to develop and manage product-related operating expense and capital investment plans. Ensures resources are allocated effectively to the highest-value priorities and that portfolio investments are tied to measurable outcomes, risk considerations, and return on investment.
Develops and delivers executive-ready reporting, insights, and recommendations on product strategy, portfolio performance, delivery progress, adoption, value realization, risks, dependencies, investment needs, and strategic opportunities. Communicates complex product and transformation topics clearly to executive, management, technical, and business audiences.
Monitors industry trends, customer expectations, competitive dynamics, financial services innovation, Farm Credit System considerations, emerging technologies, product management best practices, and digital experience benchmarks. Incorporates relevant insights into product strategy, roadmap decisions, and operating model maturity.
Provide strategic leadership, organization, staffing, development, direction, and day-to-day management of the Product Management Division. Ensure effective allocation of resources to support the achievement of strategic objectives and CoBank’s business plan. Builds, coaches, develops, and leads a high-performing product management organization. Establishes role clarity, decision rights, talent expectations, leadership bench strength, workforce plans, performance standards, and development practices required to scale modern product management capabilities across a regulated financial services environment. Identifies and drives changes to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and results for the function. Fosters a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
As a people manager at CoBank, you will be expected to manage and lead associates.
