About The Position

Sony Music Entertainment is seeking an SVP, Commercial Partnerships with exceptional knowledge and experience to lead and support artists and partners in the digital and physical space for its Nashville label group. This role involves fully exploring and pursuing all profitable revenue-generating opportunities for the Country and Faith labels. The ideal candidate must have significant expertise in setting up digital and physical releases, including logistics, marketing, and visibility. Strong relationships with key executives at streaming and digital partners are critical, as is the ability to innovate and evolve current strategies.

Requirements

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in business operations, sales, and marketing at a music media company, digital partner, or a related digital content industry.
  • Savvy in dealing with commercial platforms and DSP’s, as well as content and repertoire owners.
  • Empathetic leader who develops and empowers their team and continually raises the bar to achieve high performance.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of commercial products and platforms, consumer trends, and product consumption in the evolving music industry.
  • Apply analytical and quantitative skills with experience in social media and content marketing strategy coupled with the ability to communicate strategy, drive artist growth, and maximize revenue.
  • Naturally curious, adaptable to shifting environments, actively seeks to understand complex situations, and empathetic in high-stakes scenarios.
  • Exceptional communicator demonstrating strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on executive-level presentation skills, relationship building within a complex organization, labels, and partners.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and follows through.
  • Extremely organized with superior time management skills.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects and produce high-quality results under tight deadlines in a team environment.
  • BA or 4-year college degree, or similar education level required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead comprehensive strategy to oversee commercial physical and digital campaign development and commercial activity.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for the designated Label sales division for all sales information with label senior leadership, artist management, internal stakeholders, clients, and trade organizations.
  • Initiate and implement all campaign development strategies, including retail plans, pricing, discounts, analysis, forecasting, and production, in collaboration with finance-approved budgets and P+Ls to attain monthly forecast and annual goals.
  • Conduct top-level negotiations on behalf of all repertoire with all digital and physical customers.
  • Optimize partner expertise and knowledge of all digital platforms.
  • Augment label education on best practices and navigation through partners.
  • Drive critical analysis of Digital Partnerships to maximize opportunities.
  • Strategize and communicate partner platform placements and programs to maximize SME’s priorities with DSP’s.
  • Optimize revenue through platforms and partner programs.
  • Build mutually beneficial partnerships with all sizes/types of partners.
  • Implement Digital Strategy projects and plans.
  • Lead center-driven and cross-partner initiatives (Drive lean-in efforts with multiple internal and external teams).
  • Foster and grow strong relationships with DSP’s/Labels/Management/Etc.
