About The Position

The SVP/Chief Financial Officer serves as the Credit Union’s primary financial strategist. The CFO is challenged with balancing profitability with a member and associate focused mindset and delivering ongoing innovative and data-driven insights of our financial position. This key executive role oversees all financial risk assessments and internal controls that safeguard long term financial security. Plans, directs, and controls the organization’s overall financial plans, policies, and accounting practices. Uses accuracy while placing priority on deadlines. Subject matter expert in complying with industry, accounting, and Tampa Bay Federal Credit Union regulations, policies, reporting requirements and procedures. Actively participate in initiatives within the credit union and community that align with our Mission, Vision, Core Values. Serves as a positive role model and displays servant leadership daily as a member of the Executive Team.

Requirements

  • 5 plus years of CFO experience with a similarly sized organization.
  • Proven expertise in developing Board-approved investment policies and multi-year financial forecasting.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience with the Profitstar system for budgeting and projections.
  • Senior financial leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics required

Nice To Haves

  • Applicable experience in the credit union or banking industry.
  • CPA or MBA strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee budget planning, preparation and administration processes to control operating expenses and achieve the credit union's strategic objectives.
  • Monitors interest rate, credit and portfolio risk status and sets limitations as required for Asset/Liability Management. Identify ways to reduce interest rate risk and sensitivity.
  • Updates the ALM policy in accordance with the NCUA rules and regulations.
  • Oversees, evaluates and interprets statistical and financial reporting on the status of the credit union providing management and the Board of Directors information useful for superior decision making.
  • Provide detailed ALCO and Investment reports to Board and Executive Management.
  • Communicates with the Board of Directors, the Supervisory Committee, and executive management regarding strategic recommendations, financial results and policies which affect the organization to ensure that they are timely, accurately and adequately informed.
  • Serves as the Credit Union’s liaison with NCUA examiners and independent auditor to ensure they receive the necessary information to perform their reviews.
  • Oversees all required regulatory reporting to assure compliance in the most cost-effective manner and minimize legal liabilities.
  • Serves on several committees such as Finance Committee and Asset-Liability Committee.
  • Monitors product utilization and feedback regarding services to accurately evaluate and recommend new product and business lines which provide customers valuable services while enhancing the stability and financial results of the company.
