At Seagate, the Advanced Transducer Development group is a global R&D organization focused on developing new recording head technologies to advance areal density and support Seagate’s HDD product roadmap. The process team utilizes state-of-the-art wafer fabrication tools and cleanroom facilities to innovate and deliver leading-edge writers and read sensors. This role emphasizes proving the feasibility of new devices, processes, and materials to contribute to Seagate’s future market leadership. The position offers exposure to a broad range of cleanroom technologies, including deposition, etch, chemical mechanical polishing (CMP), and photolithography. The engineer will apply problem-solving techniques to optimize wafer flows, reduce cycle time and scrap, and investigate root causes of process failures. This role involves hands-on wafer inspection, troubleshooting, and resolution of process issues on the factory floor, requiring collaboration with experienced engineers and specialists.
