Suspension/Lift Technician
About The Position
RNR Tire Express is a national franchise retailer of tires and custom wheels with convenient payment options. The company has grown to over 200 locations in 29 states since its establishment in 2000 and emphasizes serving customers through employee training and support. The Suspension/Lift Technician, also described as a Tire & Wheel / Alignment Technician (Service Specialist), oversees activity in the service and installation shop. The role ensures safety guidelines are followed, paperwork is completed, and shop inventory, products, tools, and equipment are maintained. This is a full-time position with a family atmosphere and opportunities for future growth. Compensation is listed as $35,000–$50,000 with bonus, as well as $18.00–$23.00 per hour.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to install lift kits on trucks and leveling kits.
- Ability to install brakes, mount and balance tires and wheels, install vehicle lifts, perform alignments, and do light front-end work.
- Ability to use tire mounting and balancing machines.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted and lift and organize heavy products.
- Valid state driver's license with a clean driving history.
- Must pass a drug screen and background check; a background check is required before hire.
Nice To Haves
- ASE Certification is preferred but not required.
- Prior experience as a tire technician, wheel specialist, automotive technician, auto tech, or alignment tech is helpful for success.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all activity in the service and installation shop.
- Ensure shop safety guidelines are followed and paperwork is completed.
- Maintain shop inventory, product, tools, and equipment.
- Perform truck lift-kit and leveling-kit installations.
- Install brakes, tires, wheels, and vehicle lifts; mount and balance tires and wheels.
- Perform alignments and light front-end work.
- Place product and supply orders.
- Organize delivered merchandise.
- Identify and properly tag returned products, and clean and maintain returned products.
- Maintain an organized inventory system and control parts spending.
- Lift and organize heavy products.
