About The Position
RNR Tire Express is a national franchise retailer of tires and custom wheels with more than 200 locations in 29 states. The Suspension/Lift Technician, also described as a Tire & Wheel / Alignment Technician (Service Specialist), oversees activity in the installation shop and helps ensure customers receive a distinctive service experience. The position includes installation and repair work involving tires, wheels, lifts, suspension, brakes, and alignments, as well as shop operations and inventory responsibilities. This is a full-time role offering a family atmosphere, training, pay of $18–$23 per hour, and potential compensation of $35,000–$50,000 with bonus. The employer states that locations are closed on Sundays.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to install lift kits on trucks and leveling kits.
- Ability to install brakes, mount and balance tires and wheels, install vehicle lifts, and perform alignments.
- Strong knowledge of light front-end work.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted and lift and organize heavy products.
- Valid state driver's license and clean driving history.
- Must pass a drug screen and background check prior to hire.
Nice To Haves
- ASE Certification is preferred but not required.
- Prior experience as a tire technician, wheel specialist, automotive technician, auto tech, or alignment tech is helpful.
Responsibilities
- Perform lift kit installations on trucks and install leveling kits and vehicle lifts.
- Install brakes and perform light front-end work.
- Mount, balance, and install tires and wheels using tire mounting and balancing machines.
- Perform vehicle alignments.
- Oversee activity in the installation shop and ensure shop safety guidelines are followed.
- Complete paperwork and maintain shop inventory, products, tools, and equipment.
- Place product and supply orders; organize delivered merchandise.
- Identify, properly tag, clean, and maintain returned products.
- Maintain an organized inventory system and control parts spending.
- Lift and organize heavy products.
